Getting started

What areas do you service?

We're based in Murwillumbah in the Tweed and supply windows and doors right across the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers. Recent projects include homes at Kingscliff, Fingal Head, Suffolk Park, Lennox Head and Tallebudgera Valley.

How do I get a quote?

Send us your architectural plans or a window and door schedule, the site address and build stage, your preferred colour and glazing if you know it, and your timeframe. Email them to sales@windowmakers.com.au, use the enquiry form on our contact page, or call 02 6672 7239. Estimated sizes are enough to get started.

Do you take on small jobs, renovations and replacement windows?

Yes. One window or a whole house – no job is too small. We supply windows and doors for new homes, renovations, replacements and commercial projects.

Can I visit your showroom?

Yes. Our showroom and factory are at 28–32 Buchanan Street, Murwillumbah NSW 2484. We're open Monday to Thursday 7:00am–3:30pm and Friday 7:00am–1:00pm, closed weekends and public holidays. Bring your plans in and we'll talk it through.

Products & systems

Are your windows and doors made locally?

Yes. Every window and door is made to measure in our own Murwillumbah workshop, where we've been fabricating for 25 years. Cutting, machining and assembly all happen under one roof.

What window and door systems do you use?

We fabricate in AWS (Architectural Window Systems) aluminium: Vantage for residential and architectural homes, Elevate for commercial framing and larger spans, and ThermalHEART for thermally broken, energy-efficient frames. Each range is tested and certified to Australian Standards.

What types of windows and doors do you make?

Windows: awning and casement, sliding, double hung, louvre, bi-fold, Power STRUT automated servery windows and commercial framing. Doors: bi-fold, sliding and stacking (including corner and cavity sliders), hinged and French, and oversized pivot entry doors.

Do you do commercial projects?

Yes. We fabricate AWS Elevate commercial framing (CentreGLAZE and FrontGLAZE) for shopfronts, offices and multi-residential – single glazed, double glazed and thermally broken, engineered to AS 2047 – along with commercial hinged, pivot and sliding entry doors.

Performance

Which windows are best for coastal homes and salt air?

Our windows and doors are made for coastal and hinterland conditions: salt air, humidity, driving rain and strong sun. Awning and casement windows use compression seals rated for coastal exposure, and for hardware we recommend 316-grade stainless steel (ICON) or Enduratec-finished cast aluminium (MIRO) on exposed and beachside sites. Tell us how close you are to the water and we'll specify to suit.

Do you supply windows and doors for bushfire-prone (BAL) sites?

Yes. Many of the AWS systems we build are tested to BAL-40 – including several of our sliding and hinged doors – and our hardware is available in BAL-tested configurations. Tell us your site's BAL rating and we'll specify systems and glazing to suit.

What's the difference between double glazing and ThermalHEART?

Double glazing uses two panes of glass to cut heat transfer through the glass. ThermalHEART adds a thermal break inside the aluminium frame itself, stopping heat crossing the frame too. A ThermalHEART window or door is up to 32% more efficient than a standard double-glazed equivalent, with far less internal condensation – a good choice when you're chasing a higher energy rating.

Can you help reduce traffic or aircraft noise?

Yes. Double glazing helps, and for noisy sites we fit AWS SoundOUT secondary glazing behind existing windows, which reduces noise by up to 50dB(A).

What colours and finishes are available?

Frames are powdercoated in a wide range of colours to suit your scheme. Hardware comes colour-matched in powdercoat (ANDO), in 316-grade stainless steel (ICON), or in Enduratec-finished cast aluminium in matt black, white, silver or Monument (MIRO). Other powdercoat colours can be matched on request.
